CUSD enrollment, Chandler youth population dropping

Some aspects can be influenced by the district; others are regional issues

Only 39% of the students who live in the J.O. Combs School District in Pinal County attend public school in their local home district. The Chandler Unified School District retains 73%.

That’s what Rick Brammer of Applied Economics LLC told the CUSD Governing Board at an August work session. He also said some parts of the Valley are “oversaturated” with charter schools.

Brammer, a longtime paid consultant who crunches numbers for Valley school districts and other local governments, explained what the 73% figure means.
