Current Phoenix air quality receives low marks for 2025, report says

The Valley has received low marks for its air quality for the second straight year, according to the 2025 State of the Air Report from the American Lung Association released Wednesday.

The Phoenix area ranked fourth-worst in the nation for ozone pollution — a tick worse than last year’s numbers for Phoenix, according to its website.

Last year, the Valley ranked as the fifth-most polluted city by ozone in a 2024 listing that includes other metropolitan areas in the U.S., the American Lung Association website stated.
