Cross: Thank you to Apache Junction voters

What would I like to say to the voters and residents of Apache Junction? From the bottom of my heart, Thank you! I am truly honored that you have placed your trust and confidence in me to be a voice for you on the city council.

For the voters that didn’t vote for me or didn’t vote at all, I am here to represent you as well. We are a diverse community with many differing opinions. I respect each and everyone’s thoughts and ideas. The ultimate goal is to make Apache Junction a great place to live and a proud place to call home.

Obviously this election was far from perfect. There were numerous errors in how it was conducted by Pinal county and I am appalled. I have had a couple individuals reach out to me to express that they were not able to vote and were told to come back later because they ran out of ballots. I am sorry this has happened to them.

I know that our State Sen. Kelly Townsend has tried through legal recourse to have the election thrown out or relief granted to those voters that were disenfranchised. I believe her legal efforts thus far have been dismissed by a judge.

I have attended several of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors meetings to express my concerns and point out errors I observed at the polling locations. The board of supervisors is working hard to make all necessary corrections to ensure this debacle never happens again.

The general election is coming up in November and I feel somewhat confident that all issues will be resolved and the election will be a fair and accurate reflection of the people’s will.
