Brian Stutsman, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 3 patrol commander, said residents in Sun City West play a vital role in the partnership with MCSO and if individuals see something, then it needs to be shared now.
MCSO is the hometown law enforcement for Sun City West. The Sun City West Posse serves as the eyes and ears of the community, but is not the entity to which to report crimes.
Sun City West is 11.9 square miles and a busy place with more than 26,000 residents, according to the 2020 census. Looking at calls for service in District 3 in 2022, there were 23,603 calls with 191 arrests and in 2021 that number of calls was 24,069 and arrest were 178.
