Phoenix police are investigating a collision that left a 39-year-old man dead near 7th Street and Greenway Parkway.

The crash occurred about 7:20 a.m. Sept. 25. Officers found Arvin Rambler on the road with serious injuries, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision stopped nearby and spoke to officers.

Detectives said the vehicle was northbound on 7th Street after it passed Greenway Parkway. It struck Rambler as he was crossing 7th Street mid-block, according to a release.

The driver did not display any signs of impairment and was released, police said, adding no charges are pending as the investigating continues.
