Cox employees raise $698K for charity

Annual event will fund dozens of Arizona nonprofits

Cox Charities, the philanthropic arm of the large telecommunications company, is giving out more than $698,000 to 124 charities this year.

The effort, not woing on its 28th year, is part of a Cox employee giving campaign that has awared $11 million over that time to more than 1,900 Arizona nonprofits, according to company officials.

The group tends to focus on giving to groups working on education, diversity, environment and sustainability programs. Grants ranged from $2,500 to $10,000. Cox has major offices in Phoenix and Tucson.
