Cox Communications is boosting the speed of its internet services, doubling the top end speed in the process.
In the process, the company, which serves the metro Phoenix area, has created five tiers of internet speeds ranging from 100 megabits per second to 2 gigabits per second.
As part of the upgrade, Cox has upgraded all of its customers using its 250 Mbps services to 500 Mbps.
Cox officials said the company has invested $20 billion in network improvements over the past 10 years to bring high-speed internet connections to the region.
