Courtesy auto group tries to live up to its name

Scott Gruwell knows about tradition.

His father, Bill, helped guide a family business in Phoenix that has been alive for almost seven decades complete with an iconic outdoor sign that embodies the mission to take care of its customers.

The sign — which customers first saw in the 1950s — was hard to miss. The huge arrow with big letters reading “Courtesy Chevrolet” surely helped customers find their way in a time without Google Maps or smart phones.
