Court: Chandler man to pay $900K and cease deceptive business

A summary judgment has been issued against a Chandler man who’s now out about $900,000 for fraudulent advertising, according to a news release from Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes.

Mayes’ office announced a Maricopa County Superior Court judgment of $902,508 against Matthew Willes and five of his limited liability companies for deceiving Arizonans by leaving fake “missed delivery” slips on consumers’ doors.

The AG’s office says the slips caused consumers to contact the companies and to unknowingly provide them with their personal information and consent to receive phone solicitations.
