County: Sunset Heights Elementary School in Peoria declared as outbreak

With 11 school days left in the school year, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health has declared Sunset Heights Elementary School as an outbreak, according a letter from the Peoria Unified School District.

MCDPH defines an outbreak as two positive COVID-19 cases within a 14-day period who do not share a household.

Officials said Sunset Heights has three individuals who are currently in isolation from testing positive — one that was disclosed last week, one yesterday and one today.
