County Attorney: Chandler dentist didn't report assistant's crimes against children

Almost 2 years to the day after the arrest of an assistant at a Chandler dentist's office, a dentist has been indicted for not reporting crimes.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced May 6 that Dr. Walter Villanueva has been indicted for failing to report the abuse of a child patient at his dental practice's south Chandler location.

In September 2022, according to the County Attorney, the victim’s mother called and met with Villanueva after her 6-year-old daughter told her that dental assistant Deion Alexander Garcia had abused her during a dental exam.
