Country Club’s apology for pond stench provides hope in Glendale

Arrowhead CC owner tries new treatment plan

Legal action in March by the city of Glendale against an Arrowhead Country Club’s employee regarding a foul smelling pond on the course may spur action on its cleanup rather than getting bogged down.

Arrowhead Ranch residents living near the pond filed odor petitions with the city last fall. Arrowhead Country Club was suspected of violating a city code related to odors and golf course superintendent Stephen Bais was arraigned in Glendale Municipal Court in March under suspicion of violating a city code related to odors.

The summer heat is leading to the pond’s most pungent season.
