Council sets June 15 for vote on $80K health, human services funding

Awarding five nonprofit agencies portions of a total of $80,000 will be considered by the Apache Junction City Council June 15 as part of a consent agenda with other items.

Funding is available to Apache Junction health and human service 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies that serve city residents. The municipality’s Health and Human Services Commission voted unanimously April 26 to recommend the City Council provide the funds as follows:

  • Apache Junction Community Development Corp., $6,000;
  • Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley, $24,500;
  • Genesis Project, $11,300;
  • Salvation Army, $12,200;
  • Superstition Food Bank, $26,000.
