Chandler Council approves almost $2M in first-responder items

​At nearly every Chandler City Council meeting, there’s appreciation voiced for the Chandler Police Department and the risks and long hours its people take on.

The council recently provided its city’s first responders — mainly the police department — with more hardware for some of their functions.

By unanimously approving its Feb. 22 meeting consent agenda, the Council greenlighted two purchase contracts: one for a $1.6 million incident command vehicle and a $230,000 contract for a new police interview room camera system.
