Costs of goods, services cause Glendale budget proposal to jump

Glendale's proposed $668.6 million fiscal year 2025 budget reflects the increased cost of doing business, even for cities.

During a City Council budget workshop April 2, City Manager Kevin Phelps said the nearly half of the proposed $73.5 million in budget increases, 46% or $33.8 million, is related to inflation or contract increases for vendors.

“We’re seeing a significant rise of services and goods costs,” Phelps said.
