Cost of living, population growth up in Maricopa County

The cost of living in the Valley has gone up while Maricopa County paced the nation with the largest jump in population growth from 2021 to 2022, according to Anubhav Bagley, regional analytics director at Maricopa Association of Governments.

Phoenix is ranked No. 12 “among the top 25 most populous cities in terms of the highest” cost of living, Bagley told the MAG board on Wednesday afternoon.

In 2021, Phoenix was more affordable with a ranking of 18th-highest, he said.
