The Fraternal Order of Police, Glendale Lodge 12, will host its annual Cops & Kids event in December.
It all happens from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Westgate Dave & Buster’s, 9460 W. Hanna Lane. Lodge 12 is expanding Cops & Kids to bring holiday joy to approximately 50 local children in need.
Dave & Buster’s will open their venue early and give children free access to all of their video games. The kids will spend time with and receive presents from uniformed Glendale police officers.
Glendale SWAT officers and vehicles will be on site, allowing the children to have an interactive experience with specialized vehicles. And officers will be on the lookout for the Grinch who showed up last year only to be arrested.
Glendale police school resource officers selected all child participants based not only on need but also on their good citizenship qualities and academic focus. Parents are invited to attend.
Participants have already been accepted and the program is currently full.
Cops & Kids is a national FOP program.
