Trout and catfish were favorites to catch for some anglers fishing at Red Mountain Park Lake on a recent Saturday.
Mesa residents Jeff and Allison Washburn came with their daughter, Maddalyn, 7, to fish at the lake Jan. 29 at the third annual Cops and Bobbers event showcasing Mesa Police Department personnel and equipment.
“Well we fish a lot and so it’s kind of cool for the kids to see the cops and fish at the same time,” said Allison Washburn. “They were pretty friendly; they came out and showed us the helicopter, got us doughnuts.”
