High school junior Erick Santiago saved his money up for something great.

Santiago, 17, thought a new truck would be a good goal to have as he made money working with his dad at his air-conditioning business.

Then, a family member suggested he stash money away to buy something bigger — a house. One year later, he’s renting out his house as a high school junior at Metro Tech High School in Phoenix.
