Drivers in Goodyear should expect delays as construction projects advance in two key traffic corridors.
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, the eastbound Interstate 10 exit at Estrella Parkway will be closed for construction, according to the city. Lane restrictions will also be in place along PebbleCreek Parkway and Estrella Parkway.
The work is part of a project to widen the road beneath I-10, a move aimed at improving traffic flow in the busy area.
Meanwhile, progress is being made on the nearby Goodyear Way, a new roadway designed to improve connectivity. Once complete, it will link 150th Avenue to Bullard Avenue between McDowell Road and Encanto Boulevard, extending access and easing movement around the city’s Civic Square.
City officials said the expansion is expected to extend the energy of Goodyear’s growing downtown area, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate the rapidly developing community.
The city encouraged motorists to plan ahead, watch for posted detours and allow extra time for travel during construction.
