Contractors working for Maricopa County will begin construction on the east-west bridged crossing over the Agua Fria riverbed, June 28.
The connection in Peoria will be at Deer Valley Road and 109th Avenue. Before the bridge is completed, the city of Peoria will build a traffic circle at the 109th Avenue and Deer Valley Road intersection.
Councilmember Jon Edwards said he is thankful for the many area residents who provided input during the public planning meetings that have occurred over the last eight years.
