The new American Leadership Academy charter school has hit some milestones allowing it to begin construction on roughly 40 acres in Vistancia’s commercial core.
The city approved a development agreement Aug. 21 with Mirage Charter LLC and recently handed over building permits to begin construction and have the school at the southeast corner of El Mirage Road and Westward Skies Drive ready for students in the 2025-26 school year.
ALA will be a full-service public charter school offering a full educational curriculum and extracurricular activities including performing arts and athletics programs. Enrollment is expected to be 2,400 students.
