Concert lays down black history roots in Peoria

Multicultural Music Festival to celebrate 25 years

The Multicultural Music Festival & Black History Celebration is gearing up for its 25th anniversary, Feb. 11.

The event will headline the vocal stylings of The Intruders, who helped usher in an era of Philadelphia soul in the 1960s and 70s. “Tierra” Legacy band will close out the show, and ABC15’s Venton Blandin, will host.

The festival has its foundation in Black History Month, which was the basis of its creation, and if any family has its finger on the African American experience in Arizona and particularly Peoria, it is the Cutwright family, who has been a part of this festival since its inception decades ago.
