Concern over federal vaccine mandate lingers for Phoenix, Valley businesses

Local business owners must prepare to navigate uncharted territory as a federal vaccine mandate looms over various industries with more than 100 employees.

President Joe Biden outlined a plan last month that would require all employers with more than 100 workers to have employees vaccinated or to be tested weekly.

While a final emergency standard has yet to be issued by the U.S. Department of Labor and no date has been set for the announcement, local businesses are gearing up for the potential change Raoul Sada, president and CEO of the Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce, said he sent out guidance to 10,000 local business owners on what to do amid the new mandate.
