For the past few years, each time Scottsdale Unified School District prepares for a week-long break a team of community advocates put together food boxes to feed hundreds of families.
On March 3, more than 300 families received food boxes for spring break, which is March 8-12 for Scottsdale Unified.
Students who apply can receive free breakfast and lunch at all SUSD schools — a safe haven for many low income families. But when fall, winter and spring breaks come, those students may no longer have access to breakfast and lunch.
