Community colleges' ‘makerspace’ Phoenix Forge plans $3M expansion

An expansion is coming to Phoenix Forge, Gateway Community College’s makerspace program where students and the public can learn trades or develop materials for a profession or a hobby.

Maricopa County Community Colleges District is planning a 4,000-square-foot expansion onto the 17,000-square-foot facility at 535 W. Van Buren St.

Phoenix City Council on Wednesday approved a $250,000 contribution to the expansion, which will cost $3 million in total.
