A Gold Canyon Christmas tree lighting event is 4-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, near the main entrance of Gold Canyon Golf Resort & Spa, 6100 S. Kings Ranch Road, by the Event Center building.

Take a ride on the AZ Christmas Choo-Choo 4-6 p.m., get photos with Santa at a Christmas photo booth, make an ornament for the community tree, shop at the Christmas bazaar and enjoy festive entertainment by Tina Vale.

Funding partners of the event are Gold Canyon Chamber of Commerce, Gold Canyon Golf Resort and the Robin Rotella Team.

Santa Claus will be there for the children’s gift wishes and for all to take photos with him. A Santa Workshop will be open for children and the young at heart to create an ornament to hang on the community Christmas tree.

At 5:30 p.m. is the official lighting of the community Christmas tree, the lighting of candles and the community singing “Silent Night” together.

There are opportunities for the business community and neighbors to become sponsors to help make the Christmas tree lighting event a success, including three levels of sponsorships: Silver, $150; gold, $300; and platinum, $600. Call or text Pam Burks, event coordinator, at 480-267-2286 to become a sponsor or for more information.
