Commission recommends controversial transfer station in Peoria area

Maricopa Board of Supervisors will have final say

The Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the WestWing Recycling and Transfer Station to the Board of Supervisors, Jan. 27.

The controversial facility, in the north Peoria area on a 10-acre parcel adjacent to the WestWing Power Station, was approved by the commission unanimously, 6-0.

The Board of Supervisors will make the final decision on the case, which is scheduled 9:30 a.m. Feb. 23.
