Zoning changes for a 21-acre single-family housing development in south Phoenix were approved by the city’s planning commission last week after the developer agreed to cut the number of houses from 72 to 52.
The commission approved a rezone and general plan amendment, which now advance to city council for final approval before construction can start on the development at the southwest corner of 19th and South Mountain avenues.
A few neighbors who originally opposed the zoning changes called into the Thursday, Feb. 3, commission meeting to say they now support the plans after developer concessions.
