Closing out Wickenburg’s Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts season 7:30 p.m. April 7 is Tom Papa.

With more than 20 years as a stand-up comedian, Mr. Papa is one of the top comedic voices in the country finding success in film, television and radio as well as on the live stage.

He started his stand-up career in New York City in 1993 playing open mics and hosting at the Stand Up New York comedy club. Papa got his first big break when he was hand-picked by comedian Jerry Seinfeld to perform on his tour after meeting at the Comedy Cellar in New York.

This past December, Mr. Papa premiered his third hour-long stand-up special, Human Mule. His first two critically-acclaimed hour-long specials were directed by Rob Zombie: Tom Papa: Freaked Out is streaming on Amazon and Hulu; and Tom Papa Live in New York City is streaming on Netflix.

Mr. Papa is host of the hit podcast Come to Papa, a weekly, hour-long show featuring Tom exploring the funny side of life, occasionally with guests like Mel Brooks, Ray Romano, Carl Reiner and Jerry Seinfeld.

On TV, he guest starred on The Jim Gaffigan Show on TV Land and on Colin Quinn’s web series, Cop Show, both in 2015. In 2013, he was seen alongside Michael Douglas in the HBO film, Behind the Candelabra, which was directed by Steven Soderbergh and won 11 Emmys. He was also seen in the hit Comedy Central series, Inside Amy Schumer.

On the silver screen, Mr. Papa starred opposite Matt Damon in the Steven Soderbergh film, The Informant. He also appeared in the film Analyze That, opposite Robert DeNiro. He was a writer and had a voiceover role in the DreamWorks animated feature "Bee Movie."

Tickets to the April 7 comedy performance start at $35. Call 928-684-6624 to reserve seats, ask about $5 student tickets, or visit www.dewpac.org to see video previews.
