Over the past 12 months, the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority responded to four garage fires at homes in Sun City West.
Several potential dangers can be found in many garages throughout the community, but a few simple steps can help keep homeowners protect their homes and remain safe.
Eric Kriwer, Arizona Fire & Medical Authority deputy chief, said garage fires are the more common types of fires, especially in Sun City West. Organization officials wanted to reach out to the general public to increase awareness and safety. During the four garage fires, no injuries occurred, and the fires were contained in the garage. He said it is a dangerous situation homeowners need to be aware of.
