A collision between a truck and a Valley Metro light rail vehicle resulted in one death an multiple injuries, Phoenix Police said in a release Tuesday.
The collision happened just after 5 a.m. at Central Avenue and Indian School Road, police said. When officers arrived on scene, they located the pickup truck and the light rail. Multiple passengers were treated on scene for injuries, and four of those passengers were transported to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons.
The male driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not indentified by police.

A collision between a truck and a Valley Metro light rail vehicle resulted in one death an multiple injuries, Phoenix Police said in a release Tuesday.
The collision happened just after 5 a.m. at Central Avenue and Indian School Road, police said. When officers arrived on scene, they located the pickup truck and the light rail. Multiple passengers were treated on scene for injuries, and four of those passengers were transported to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons.
The male driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not indentified by police.
The intersection of Central Avenue and Indian School Rad was shut down in all directions when detectives responded to assume the investigation. The delay was expected to last all morning, according to Phoenix Police officials.
