Colby Brandt promoted to assistant chief of Glendale Police Department
A 23-year veteran of the Glendale Police Department has been promoted to assistant chief of the agency.
In a release Thursday, Jan. 16, Chief Chris Briggs announced that Colby Brandt will be the assistant chief effective Saturday, Jan. 18.
“During Assistant Chief Brandt’s 23-year career he has continually demonstrated servant and transformational leadership,” Mr. Briggs stated in a release. “He instills confidence and trust not only in those who work for him, but also in our community, and his promotion will provide strength and stability in our organization for years to come.”

A 23-year veteran of the Glendale Police Department has been promoted to assistant chief of the agency.
In a release Thursday, Jan. 16, Chief Chris Briggs announced that Colby Brandt will be the assistant chief effective Saturday, Jan. 18.
“During Assistant Chief Brandt’s 23-year career he has continually demonstrated servant and transformational leadership,” Mr. Briggs stated in a release. “He instills confidence and trust not only in those who work for him, but also in our community, and his promotion will provide strength and stability in our organization for years to come.”
Mr. Brandt has served as a patrol officer, property crimes detective, auto theft detective, patrol sergeant, Neighborhood Response Squad sergeant, patrol lieutenant, General Investigations Unit lieutenant, Gateway Patrol Division commander, and, until his promotion, was the commander over the Administrative Services Division.
According to a release, Mr. Brandt received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Ottawa University and a Master of Science in Legal Studies from the University of California in 2019. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Drug Enforcement Administration Drug Unit Commanders Academy and the AZPOST Arizona Leadership Program.
Prior to his service with Glendale, Mr. Brandt served as in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Brandt has been married for 24 years to his wife and has a son and a daughter.
