Stockton, Calif. - Cleo Moon Peterson passed away peacefully on July 24, 2016 in Stockton, Calif. She was born on Mar. 2, 1924 to Laurel O. and Gladys Moon in Whitehall, Wisc. Cleo grew up in Northern Wisc., graduated from Ellsworth High School, and spent much of her early adult life in Chippewa Falls. On Apr. 6, 1946, she married John Arthur Peterson. They moved south to Platteville in 1948 to open a dental practice and raise a family. Cleo spent almost 40 years there, having many wonderful times and making lifelong friends. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church and Platteville Country Club. After several years of "snowbirding", she moved to Arizona full time in 1987. She joined American Lutheran Church of Sun City, and looked forward to hearing their vibrant music each week. Over the years, she enjoyed her Bridge Club, golfing, reading, bird watching, flowers, and loved to travel and go out to eat with friends and family. She did crafting, knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitch, and even dabbled in pottery. She was an avid sports fan and especially followed the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and San Francisco Giants. Cleo was preceded in death by "Doc", her husband of 67 years. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Bill) Perrone of Santa Clara, CA, her son, Stephan (Rita) Peterson of Stockton, CA, her granddaughters, Laura (Patrick) Wharton of Dublin, CA, and Christine Schoville of Santa Clara, CA, and great-grandchildren, Rafe and Kathleen Wharton of Dublin, CA.
