The Anasazi Chapter Daughters of American Revolution collected more than $500 in supplies to support the special education program at Washington Elementary School District.
A list of program needs, beyond the normal classroom supplies, was provided in advance to Anasazi Chapter. Some were for a special Sensory Room, and others were to support the children who frequently use devices to communicate or have special toys/devices from which they learn.
Carolyn Williams, special services specialist, provided a list that included many items that Chapter members ordered from Amazon and had delivered directly to the school district. Others were presented to her at the Anasazi Chapter meeting.
The Washington Elementary School District serves more than 25,300 students in Phoenix and east Glendale. With 32 schools, WESD is the largest elementary school district in Arizona.
