As COVID receded, Scottsdale’s economy heated up with pent up demand and federal stimulus spending but it’s starting to taper off as revenue growth has slowed during the first half of this fiscal year.
That was the message Scottsdale City Treasurer Sonia Andrews gave to the city council Tuesday night.
Pent up demand for goods and services and the consumer spending spree that followed the pandemic are thinning out as consumers spend down their personal savings and pull back on spending with inflation and economic uncertainties, she said.
