City on track for new multi-use trail, connects P83 into Peoria’s system

The city of Peoria is planning for a new 1.75 mile multi-use trail called Stadium Trail along the north side of Skunk Creek from 83rd to 73rd avenues.

The project will be largely federally funded and the Peoria City Council, March 2, approved an intergovernmental agreement with the state of Arizona for the local cost share, design, rights-of-way acquisition, construction, and construction management for the trail.

Development and Engineering Director Adina Lund said completion of this segment of the multi-use path will close critical gaps within the regional path network. These new connections will also provide direct non-motorized access into the P83 Entertainment District, many city owned parcels, and the Peoria Sports Complex, spring training home of the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres.
