City of Scottsdale reserves $4M for employee compensations

Despite the downfalls of the pandemic, the city of Scottsdale had just enough in reserve through October to complete the final year of a three year program to sustain market competitiveness for employees.

Scottsdale City Council recently consented approval regarding employee merit and adjustments for charter officer market and merit compensation as well as authorizing contingency transfers up to $4,882,444.

The amount will be used from the applicable operating funds to the appropriate operating divisions identified for compensation adjustments, according to a city staff report, citing an April 24, 2018 study conducted by Public Sector Personnel Consultants.
