Drownings are on the rise this year in the Valley. Since January, 47 people have drowned in Maricopa and Pinal counties according to the Children’s Safety Zone, according to a press release from the City of Scottsdale.
Scottsdale Aquatics will wave enrollment fees for swim lessons throughout August for both residents and non-residents in recognition of Drowning Impact Awareness Month.
The free classes are available for children and adults ages six months and up.
