City of Scottsdale agrees to Hohokam Elementary audit request

Not everybody gets excited over an audit but Scottsdale Schools’ superintendent proudly announced that the local City Council has agreed to audit the district’s Hohokam Elementary School bond project.

The intergovernmental agreement approved by Scottsdale City Council on March 16 entails SUSD reimbursing the city $90,000 for the city auditor to conduct defined audit services. The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board had previously approved its end of the agreement in February.

“The first thing I want to share is that the city approved the IGA for the internal audit function earlier this evening and so we will begin our partnership with them with respect to the internal audit function. I just want to be sure to pass that information on along,” said Dr. Scott A. Menzel, SUSD superintendent, to the governing board.
