City of Chandler: $2M impact from county tax suit is minimal

​Hundreds of thousands of residential Maricopa County properties had to be revalued and hundreds of entities must pay back property tax dollars as a result of the recent upholding of a class-action lawsuit.

Fortunately, for the city of Chandler — and most municipalities in Maricopa County — property taxes aren’t as big a part of finances as they are for school districts.

The city must refund about $1.94 million in taxes to property owners.
