Mayor’s proclamation recognizes courage, compassion during COVID-19 threat

Avondale Mayor Kenneth Weise proclaimed April 6 as a Day of the Health Care Hero, extending gratitude and appreciation to the medical professionals at Abrazo West Campus, a hospital release stated.
 
City of Avondale Fire Chief Jeff Case presented the proclamation to Dr. Brian Seavey, Abrazo West CEO Christina Oh, CEO other hospital staff at the 200-bed hospital and trauma center, 13677 W. McDowell Road, Goodyear.
 
 The mayor’s proclamation recognizes the valued role that health care professionals play in tandem with the city’s first responders during the current COVID-19 outbreak, the release stated.
 
Excerpts the proclamation include, “Avondale is fortunate to have Abrazo West Campus located just on the outskirts of the city’s border, serving the medical and emergency needs of our residents during this time of national public health crisis … Abrazo West Campus is staffed with dedicated, talented and extraordinarily skilled doctors, nurses and a host of other medical and health care professional and support staff who are collectively combating the coronavirus threat with their courage, compassion and steadfast hard work and resolve.”
