Peoria gets $3.2M grant for turf reductions

Will aid in water conservation

The city of Peoria is getting nearly $3.2 million in grant funding from the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority for targeted turf reductions in the parks and recreation footprint throughout the city.

The grant includes a 25% match requirement of just more than $630,000.

The funds are part of the Water Conservation Grant Fund created in 2022, a $200 million allocation by the Arizona State Legislature via the American Rescue Act intended to help facilitate water conservation projects across the state.
