Reps. Ansari, Ciscomani do away with pay during government shutdown

Some in the Arizona congressional delegation are not taking their pay during the federal government shutdown, a voluntary act that goes along with some shutdown who will not be getting paid.

The U.S. government shut down Wednesday after a failure from Congress to agree on federal spending and a resolution. During this time military, TSA and other federal employees are expected to work without pay until a budget is passed.

Democrat Rep. Yassamin Ansari, who represents  Phoenix, and Glendale announced she would donate her salary to Phoenix-area health center Wesley Community and Health Centers, with locations in Phoenix and Mesa.
