Christy Johnson (nee Schiewe), 71, of Apache Junction, AZ passed away on February 1, 2024.
She was born on December 25, 1952 in Salem, OR.
Christy was a beloved wife to her husband David Johnson and a loving mother to her children, Matthew Prince, Brittany Prince, and Hawley Prince and a loving Grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Suzanne, Joan, and Barbara.
Christy had a fulfilling career as a nurse, beginning as a Nurses Aid, advanced to an LPN, then an RN,
and then as a CRRN. She was also the proud recipient of the prestigious Daisy Award. She was a fierce advocate for her patients and shared her compassion and knowledge with all she worked with. She especially enjoyed helping new nurses find their way and discover the true calling of being a Nurse.
Christy was curious by nature and approached life with a sense of adventure. She loved the small things that make life fun, afternoon rain, meeting horses and riders on hiking trails, the desert in bloom. She enjoyed painting small rocks and hiding them in various places, bringing joy to those who stumbled upon them.
She spread joy wherever she went.
A Celebration of Life service will be held to honor Christy’s memory. Details will be announced at a future date.
Christy Johnson will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
