The company that owns the Christown Spectrum mall plans to eventually add 2,066 multifamily residential units as it redevelops the mall piece-by-piece during the next 20 or 30 years into a mixed-use project.
Mark Wendel, director of development for Kimco Realty, the company that owns the mall, emphasized these 2,000 planned units would not be coming all at once. Kimco pledged to build 100-200 units every year or two during last month’s Phoenix Alhambra Village Planning Committee meeting.
At full buildout, Kimco plans for the development to include 2,066 multifamily residential units, 560,000 square feet of offices, 131,000 square feet of retail, 46,000 square feet for entertainment and 300 hotel rooms.
