Christmas card technique taught at Sun City West club

Posted

Members of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More recently learned how to create lavish Christmas cards using cardstock and fancy fabric ribbon.

Member Lloydyne Vining taught the group how to take three-inch decorative ribbon — the type used to make home décor items or tie around gifts — and make it the focal point of a Christmas greeting card.

Members selected ribbon featuring glittery snowflakes, smiling snowmen or gnomes in red checkered outfits wearing embellished pom-pom hats to make eye-catching Christmas cards.

Afterwards, members swapped their ribbon with others, so everyone went home with a selection of festive Christmas ribbon to make more cards on their own time.

Learn how to make greeting cards, papercrafts or scrapbooks (traditional or digital) by joining SPAM meets in Beardsley Center’s Agave Room on Wednesdays (5-9 p.m.), Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).
