City of Phoenix pays $4M toward 28,000-square-foot expansion

The Children’s Museum of Phoenix is expanding.

Phoenix City Council voted last week to contribute $4 million toward the expansion that will add 28,000 square feet to the 48,000-square-foot museum. The money was earmarked by the public in approving general obligation bonds in a 2023 election.

“I’m excited to see this happen,” said Councilmember Laura Pastor during the June 4 council meeting. “The Children’s Museum always provides great adventure and fun and most importantly provides relief to parents as kids are laughing, jumping, exploring, and their inquisitive minds (are)in action.”
