Child tests positive for fentanyl in Phoenix

Phoenix police said Thursday that a child who tested positive for fentanyl is expected to survive.

The child has been placed in the custody of the Department of Child Safety.

The incident, the second such case this week, occurred near 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road, and authorities said an investigation is continuing.

Child tests positive for fentanyl in Phoenix

Phoenix police said Thursday that a child who tested positive for fentanyl is expected to survive.

The child has been placed in the custody of the Department of Child Safety.

The incident, the second such case this week, occurred near 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road, and authorities said an investigation is continuing.

“An arrest decision has not been made,” police officials said in a release.
