A one-and-a-half-year-old boy drowned Monday at a Gilbert residence, police said.
Gilbert Fire & Rescue Department and Gilbert Police Department responded to a residence near Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads for a child drowning call at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Evidence collected through the investigation showed the boy exited the home into the backyard through a dog door before falling into the unfenced pool where he was found, according to police
Life-saving measures were provided at the home before the child was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later.
